Reception Recap: Our Favourite Dancing Photos!
Something we have come to really miss over the least year of COVID is the high energy fun of a reception dance floor
So we’ve decided to compile a handful of our favourite dance floor photos partly because we’re feeling a little nostalgic and partly because we need something to look forward to as we enter into another season of dance floor-less weddings.
What we love so much about wedding receptions, I think, is how relaxed everyone is; the most stressful and anxiety-inducing parts of the day are over with, people aren’t hangry anymore, and it really is a time to unwind and celebrate! I (Stef) am also a huge sucker for a reception playlist, completely unable to control myself from singing out loud if I hear a song I know (12/10 chance you’ll see me mumbling and shimmying along behind my camera).
From a photo perspective this is where we switch to using our on camera flash because it’s generally later at night and the main house lights are off/on low so we need to bring in our own light. Arguably one of the best investments we’ve made since we’ve started shooting is this MagMod Sphere (for any curious photo nerds) and not just for us, but for guests as well! It gives us a softer and more even quality of light while still being bright as we try to stay true to our style of shooting throughout the day, and despite how the bright pop of flash the sphere makes it much easier on the eyes of those that we’re shooting at so they’re not blinded by the light! (another great reception song btw)
So without further ado, here are some of our favourite reception photos over the years…
