Lauren & Dan's At Home Maternity Session in Toronto
All season long we’ve been wanting to shoot an at home session
And when the opportunity finally presented itself, we could not have been more thrilled that it was with two of the most wonderful and relaxed people we've ever met! Lauren and Dan invited us into their beautiful Toronto home to photograph their maternity session earlier this summer and it was everything we've been dreaming of, and more!
Just before we started shooting Lauren said I don't want to do posed photos, I just want to do something natural which was pretty funny because I was just about to give them a few posing tips before getting started, but as soon as she said that I knew exactly what to do- I told them, whatever it is you do when you're at home hanging out, do that; just do what you always do.
Having a camera in your face and trying to 'act natural' will surely feel like the most unnatural thing in the whole entire world, but Lauren and Dan eased into it perfectly! We talked a bit more than we ended up shooting, hung out upstairs in their office space, bedroom, and even outside under the chuppah Lauren's dad built for their wedding, before heading out for a quick walk up the block and then parting ways.

While pregnant Lauren and Dan knew they were going to have a girl, but they agreed not to tell anyone her name until after giving birth. I tried to play it off like I'll never see you again you muuuust tell me ;)))) but they didn't budge. A few days after they got home from the hospital, I got a surprise email from Lauren and a photo of their baby girl named Estella (Stella), born happy and healthy shortly after our maternity session!
Thank you Lauren, Dan, and Stella for having us capture such a beautiful milestone in your life! We couldn't have asked for something more perfect!
