Sofia & Craig's Engagement at The Esplanade
it was a classic late fall day— cold, windy, grey with some moments of sunlight— but they still wanted to shoot and it was so worth it!
Sofia & Craig are self professed city people so they wanted their engagement session to reflect that, and what better way to get a ‘city’ vibe than to shooting in the hustle and bustle of downtown Toronto! We started at Berczy Park which is actually where Craig proposed to Sofia in the sweetest retelling of a story we’ve ever read:
Sofia thought she was going grocery shopping at the St Lawrence Market. We were going to meet Craig's parents there and just shop around. Then Craig said let's meet my parents at the dog fountain park (Berczy Park) for some photos it's a nice day. Then we arrived and Sofia happen to notice that her Mother, Sister, Brother in law, Nephew and Dad were all there...how ODDD. Sofia kept saying what's going on Craig. So Craig gathered the two families together and made an amazing beautiful maybe the most amazing speech of all time and then got down on one knee and proposed to his most beautiful, lovely, superstar girlfriend will you be my wife! She said YES!
Despite not having the same beautiful day as they did at their proposal, these two were troopers as we made our way around the city through various skyscrapers that create the worst wind tunnels, seriously they were so tolerant of the cold while looking incredible in photos the whole time! We always want the people we’re photographing to be comfortable, if you’re not it comes through in your photos, but for Sofia & Craig, it was a great excuse to get a little closer, to hold each other a little tighter, and and it added some colour to their cheeks ;) These two were so sweet and so kind, we can’t wait for their wedding next year!
